Mindy Schlimgen, Resiliency & Nature-based Coach, Awareness With Nature, LLC

Mindy’s earliest memory of connecting with nature was as a young Girl Scout. She learned to wilderness backpack at the age of 18 in SW Colorado and studied natural resources, earning degrees in Forestry (BS) and Water Resources (MS). As a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala she taught reforestation and soil conservation techniques. She later worked for the US Forest Service, Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources, New Mexico Environment Dept., American Rivers, The Nature Conservancy, and the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe. Today, as a Life Coach she offers individual and group coaching, workshops and Forest Bathing Meetups.  Credentialed by the International Coaching Federation, she presently serves on their statewide Board. Mindy loves sharing her experiential practices and talking about the wonders of nature.

Rev. Linda Guy, IFM, CSD

Linda’s first love was the woodland of her Maryland youth, and this affair with nature flourished in the Rockies during graduate school. She is now an interfaith minister (Emerson Theological Institute), a spiritual director, writer and Prayer Chaplain Emeritus at Unity. Linda offers spiritual direction as a means to awaken awareness to our divine dimension. She is particularly fond of accompanying those called to move the contemplative life out of the cloister and into the world. Linda’s life is rooted in daily meditation, and since her arrival in Prescott, she cofounded two contemplative circles, including Unity’s Midweek Meditation. She can think of few better ways to reconnect with spiritual wholeness than by turning to nature, humanity’s first cathedral.

East of Prescott, from Highway 169 (near COSTCO):

Take Walker Road south, past the Lynx Lake Campground, and turn left at the South Shore entrance. Almost immediately take your first left into the Eagle Ride Group Campground.  You will pass the Campground Host on your right, and then pass the Osprey Group Campground on your left.  Continue forward over the hill to find Peregrine Group Campground on your left.  There are vault restrooms nearby, a covered picnic area with concrete tables, and a fire ring and water faucet.  Please bring a camp chair for your own comfort, there will be a few extras on hand to borrow.  Don’t forget your lunch, water, appropriate outdoor clothing/jacket/sturdy shoes, journal/pen, and your curiosity!
